ecotile ESD is a static dissipative flooring system, (also referred to as a conductive) which is also, by the nature of its static dissipative properties, static dissipative. ecotile ESD is gauranteed to meet ISO 61340/5, EN 1081, EN 1815 & EN6356. The surface resistance of the tiles falls between 3.0 x 104 ohm and 3.4 x 105 ohm. The contact resistance falls between 3.6 x 105 ohm and 9.5 x105 ohm. ecotileESD is offered with a life guarantee that it will retain its anti-static performance and, if grounded in accordance with our instructions and maintained properly, the tiles will create a safe conductive floor surface that can be used as your primary ground.
Composition, Manufacture & Availability: ecotileESD flooring is manufactured using an injection-moulding process during which thousands of tiny metal fibres are added to the compound. This method ensures that the fibres are evenly distributed right the way through each tile guaranteeing the permanent ESD performance of the tile. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be aware that the stainless steel fibres may be visible on the surface of the tile. This is unavoidable and a fundamental part of the manufacturing process that ensures optimum ESD performance.

Which ecotile should I use? - ESD or anti-staticThe important question is will you be audited? |
|
If yes - what is the standard you will be tested to? The industry standard is IEC 61340-5-1:2007 standard protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena which requires a floor with an electrical resistance of the surface that must be no higher than 1.0 x 109. To achieve this standard the only options are a flooring impregnated with either carbon or metal fibres (i.e. E500/7/ESD) If no – what are your buying motives? Performance, durability or price? If the first two are important we would recommend you go down the first option (E500/7/ESD), could your customers introduce audits or testing in the future? If the decision is primarily influenced by price the lower cost option is either ecotile anti-static (E502/7/AS) or the standard ecotile with an anti-static polish. |
